Dinner at the Coronados

Joel and his family invited the Ruiz family over for dinner. It was a great time of fellowshipping. Time flies very fast, it seems like yesterday we were over at their house for the holiday seasons. Joel looks quite happy to be back in his kitchen domain.

Joel doesn't like to pass around his old photos but good thing his Mom does. Many don't know but Joel plays the bass. And as the picture shows, Joel looks quite "chummy" in this picture.

Tara Barbara

It's good to see Tara again. Tara attended our Summer of Service in Okinawa back in July. It's good to see her going strong for God.

Tatsuhiko has been going strong for the past week in California. Every time we eat Tatsu is ready to chow. Here is Tatsu eating a "Macho Combo Burrito" from Del Taco.

Rie and Tatsuhiko is here!!

This year's trip to California is special as the Lord allowed Tatsuhiko and Rie to visit. Both of them came from Okinawa. Rie just finished her first semester at CCBC Okinawa while Tasuhiko is attending at a College nearby the church to learn English. Both are wide eyed at the real American lifestyle. From shopping to eating everyday is an experience for them during the holiday season.

Safe arrival.

It was great for Zach to have been picked up by his grandparents and sister Hannah. Hannah recently finished her first semester at Bible College and is currently helping at Murrieta by doing the sound for the retreats. Continue to pray for Hannah and what God has for her.

Traveling "New Style"

Heading out to California I was able to fly on the latest type if airplane. This is the "Skybus" (correct me if I'm wrong). The seats were more spacious and the personal screen was bigger than previous models. Let's the adventure begin!

Instrument of Surrender.

This is important history. When Japan surrendered to America at the end of World War 2, Japan needed to sign the famous "Instrument of Surrender". This document shows that Japan would disassemble their military and fully submit to America. This document is the original OG, you can see the signature from the very person who represented the Emperor of Japan.

Edo Scenery

Throughout the museum there are many displays to how how life looked in Tokyo. The displays are very detailed and gives a very good picture of what it looked like.

Edo Museum

Rich took those who wanted to go to Edo Museum in Tokyo City. This building is huge and is dedicated to showing how life looked during the reign of the Shogun and the time of the Emperor.

Aki is engaged!!!

Recently Aki went on a trip back to Okinawa for her parents to meet her long time boyfriend missionary Logan Jeffrey. The main reason for Logan and Aki going to Okinawa was more than sightseeing but Logan asked Aki's parents permission to marry her. All of us were expecting for Logan to ask the question but we were still happy to hear the news. It was a blessing to have Aki leave to Okinawa single and to return an engaged woman.

Happy Birthday Mariko!!

Today is Mariko's 20th birthday. It is a big deal for those who turn 20 in Japan. Japan now officially recognizes Mariko as an adult. Mariko turned 20 just in time as she can celebrate "Coming of age day" for Japan in January. Happy Birthday Mariko!!

Rehearsal

The staff at WeGoEigo are practicing for tomorrows Christmas play. As the picture shows Rich is busting down some hard work.

Chuck and Yumi sharing the Gospel.

The group visited two prefab house shelter groups to share Gods love and explain the true reason of celebrating Christmas. Chuck explained clearly that The story of Jesus' birth is a story of hope. Beautiful to hear the story of ultimate hope to people who have been stripped of everything and are living on what hope they have.

The damage still lingers......

It has been 10 months when the tsunami struck the Miyagi prefecture and still the disaster is everywhere. But for the most part Japan and relief groups has been working hard to help clean up the debris and mess. Please continue to keep those in the Miyagi prefecture in your prayers.

The Sendai- Group

This was a good picture that missionary Roy Toma took of the group. As you can see we met with former okinawa missionary couple Chuck and Yumi. They are now living up in Sendai working with relief groups. God is doing a wonderful work up here in Sendai, day by day God's love is being shown to those who have been affected by the tsunami and earthquake disaster.

Drive up to Miyagi-Ken

The drive up to Miyagi-ken (prefecture) is wonderful. The road is easy to drive on and the scenery is wonderful. Going up North has a lot of space and you get the sense of "Rural Japan" and how it would have looked back in the Edo-Period.

CC Tokozawa

Today Pastor Tom and Zach went up and visited Pastor Travis and crew at CC Tokorozawa. It's great to see God working all over Japan.

Mike Snider: "Worship"

Michael taught the last session of the conference. Those who heard Michael clearly understood of why we worship God by looking at David's words in Psalms.

Joel Coronado: "Leadership"

The conference split into two workshops for women and men. Joel taught the men's workshop on leadership. Joel made it clear that a Godly leader does not focus on pleasing others but is solely focused on being obedient to God and is at a meant to please Him in how a leader leads. Joel started his message with a good intro...."Steve Jobs is a cut throat". Great job Joel!

Mac-Lover Asher

Asher loves McDonalds especially when they are having a sale for their famous "Big-Macs"; 1 for ¥200 yen. Keep chowing Asher!!!!

Yasutomo Miyagi: "Workplace"

Yasutomo was able to share at a workshop labeled "Workplace". Stomer shared on how to be in an unsaved society while being a Christian. There are many Christians that work in a secular setting and we all need to be encouraged of striving to be an example of Christ for others to see.

Tom Cotton. "Serving in Life"

It's a pleasure to have Tom Cotton with us at the conference. Tom is currently serving at CCBC Okinawa where he is teaching and serving the students. It's good to see both Tom and Tokito "back in action".
Both were a "tag-team duo" in Okinawa before Tokito moved to Tokyo. Good job mate!

Blessings from Kumiko

Kumiko blessed those at the weekly prayer with homemade red velvet cake and frosting. All of it is homemade...incredible.

End of semester Ice Cream run.

Since the semester has officially ended here in Tokyo, some of the guys went to 7-11 and got ice cream to celebrate.

Finished! (Acts Class)

Tonight was the last Acts class of the semester. It has been a blessing to have been able to teach the book of Acts. This class started with only Lewis (centered) but ended with a total of three as God brought Asher and Hide at the middle. May God use these men mightily for His glory!!!

Going back to the Island.

The boys are leaving back to Hawaii today, they were a good group. It was good to have the boys here at the mainland. Please pray for a safe travel and for God to continue to speak to their hearts.

The Hawaiian team went to a ramen shop that allows you to stack as many ice cream scoops for 100. The boys went downtown on the scoops.

The legend lives!!!

For many of you who know the Ruiz family, there is an old story that we tell called "Brown Fingers". My dad told these guys the story and got them creeped out. They saw this statue of big hands and immediately said it was "Brown Fingers" out to get them. Having fun in the Mainland.

Chef Benji

Benji is the man, on Friday night Bible Study he helped Candice cook the food. Benji prefers to be behind the stove and the food was good. Good job Benji, keep serving the Lord in various ways!!!!

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard most of the boys from Hawaii say they didn't prefer sushi. But don't worry, as you can see the guys in this picture loaded up on a lot of Coke and French fries.

The Boeks

It was a blessing on Sunday to have the Boek family join us here at CC Fuchu. Pastor Jeremiah pastors down in Machida and is currently preparing for God's next leading. The Boeks are preparing to move way down south to Kagoshima to start a church plant. Please keep the Boek family in prayer.

A group of boys came from CC Honolulu for a two week missions trip in Japan. The first week they went down to Okinawa to help out for a week at CCBC Okinawa and are here in mainland for the remainder of their trip. These guys are a bunch of fun.
